The Uhob Standard defines how verified travel videos look, feel and perform, so every Uhob meets the same level of quality.

As vertical video becomes an integral part of the booking experience, consistency and comparability are essential. Without a clear standard, visual quality, structure, and messaging vary widely — reducing trust and usability.

The Uhob Standard ensures a consistent visual language and reliable quality across all Uhobs, enabling booking platforms and travelers to quickly understand, compare, and trust the content.

Key requirements

To ensure consistent quality and seamless integration across all booking platforms, Uhobs must comply with the following technical requirements:

To avoid

Uhobs with any of the following characteristics do not meet the standard and can’t be verified:

• Composed of still images or photographs
• AI-generated content
• Overly filtered
• Black and white or sepia
• Graphically filtered with overlays, borders, or artistic effects
• Low resolution, blurry, or pixelated
• Sideways, upside down, or otherwise improperly rotated
• Added elements that do not reflect the actual offering

Stylistic & format

Content that does not match the visual or structural standard.

• Still images in video. Videos made up of still images in a slideshow or montage.
• AI-generated content.
• Symbols or emojis.
• External links. Video content with URLs, phone numbers, or calls to action.
• Promotional content. Direct advertising of competitor products or services.
• Prices and promotions. Videos containing prices, promotional information, discount claims, or time-sensitive information.

Misleading, commercial & legal violations

Content that is deceptive, commercial, or violates laws or policies.

• Fraudulent information. Video content showcasing fraudulent, false, misleading, or deceptive information.
• Misrepresentation. Intentionally misleading viewers about the property or surrounding area.
• Impersonation. Pretending to be another person, business, or brand.
• Illegal activity. Violation of local laws or Uhob policies.
• Unsafe practices. Risky behavior, dangerous stunts, or illegal activities.
• Infringement of intellectual property and proprietary rights. Content that infringes the intellectual property or other proprietary rights of others. Only submit your own content or content that you have permission to use. For example, unless you have obtained permission from all relevant third parties, do not play music or include images, artwork, or other audiovisual works in your video(s). Anyone featured in the video should avoid prominently visible branding on clothes, jewelry, or accessories if you don’t have permission from the brand owner.

Privacy, safety & ethical restrictions

Content that violates personal rights, privacy, or safety standards.

• Confidential information. Any personally identifiable information about others, including full names, addresses, contact information, credit card numbers, or other personally identifying information, should not be displayed in the video.
• Private information. Unintentional exposure of others’ identity without consent, including faces, license plates, or addresses.
• Property access. Videos containing specific information about accessing the property, such as door codes, key locations, or exact addresses for vacation rental properties.
• Explicit content. Nudity, sexual acts, graphic violence, drug use, or excessive alcohol consumption.
• Discriminatory content. Hate speech, racism, sexism, xenophobia, harassment, or bullying.
• Minors without parental consent. A valid declaration of consent is required for videos of guests under the age of 18.
